Harry On The Big Screen

OK so it was a little screen but we got to SEE and TALK to Harry!

From his Email on Christmas Eve:
maria.ardis1 is the skype address!! WHAT'S YOURS?!?!?!?? I'm so excited!!! so I'll be skyping at 5:30 PM and you'll be skyping at 9:30 AM, K??????? Woohoo!!!! I love Christmas :D WOOHOO!!!! so this is a short email, cuz this isn't really my p-day, just to confirm time and stuff. oh! and i totally only got your package. i know that i got one more package that's waiting for me in some post office in London cuz i have to pay 20.55 pounds (there's no pounds sign on this computer, america!) in CUSTOM'S CHARGES FOR IT!!! terrible! >:PPP anyway, i still love all of you :D and i'll talk to you tomorrrow!!!!!!!!! :DDDD maria.ardis1 at 9:30 AM, BE THERE :DDDDDD

So at 9:30 Christmas morning we turned on our son-in-law's laptop and SKYPED with Harry! It was so great!

Much thanks to the Ardis family who let him use their laptop and fed him (and apparently every Sunday). They have an 8 year old daughter who bugged him a lot of the time we were talking and we loved it.

We met his companion from Stockholm, heard about a few investigators and the ward (about 150 members). AND he showed us his very pointed toe shoes to go with is posh grey suit.

It was funny we thought he had a bit of an accent and then he turned on his Essex accent which was really thick.

I really don't remember a lot of the conversation because I was concentrating on his face, which has gotten a little chubby from being well fed but it is such a CUTE face.

I am sooo grateful to live in this miraculous age of technology!
It was the best Christmas present!

Elder Larsen and the Christmas Tree

Do you miss your missionary more at Christmas time? I do. I'm hoping  his presents get to him before Christmas day. I missed him when I put up the tree and that made me wonder if he would have a Christmas tree.

When Elder Larsen rescued the Chritmas tree from the side of the road, he didn’t see (because they were invisible) the Christmas Elves that were also trying to save the sad tree.
As they followed the Elder home, they knew it was going to be an ADVENTUROUS Christmas!

yes we have a christmas tree!
It's kinda this weird green stuffed thing. like green felt fabric in a cone
shape with colourful dingle balls on it. fun! and i love the christmas
drawing!!!! Although i feel rather uncolourful next to the extravagant
elves ;3 I love it! :D

and for christmas we're gonna go to several
families homes and watch some disney movies with their kids and we'll be singing silent night with a bunch of missionaries on the 8th so that's kinda like caroling. and elder jensen and i figured out the bass and tenor parts, WITHOUT A PIANO. we're awesome ;D but yeah it's been great!

and i'm sure your birthday will be fantastic ;D And
birthday is kinda almost maybe coming up as well!!! I'M GONNA BE 20. that's disgusting. so old! oh well. i suppose time rolls on! and the mission is good times :) so i can't complain!

we've had a pretty good week :) we set up 6 appointments with new people this week, which is pretty nuts, especially for this area!! so we're hoping some good things come from that :) and we found another lady who just invited us over to her house tomorrow which is awesome! we did super crazy finding in town center this week, but it was good. so yeah! The work goes on!!!

and hey, just for a good scriptural, spiritual thought,
kinda-ish in the spirit of the season- i read a scripture this week that really touched my heart so i figured i'd share it with you,
Mosiah 3:7-13 (i think...).

And lo, he shall suffer temptations, and pain of body, hunger, thirst, and fatigue, even more than man can suffer, except it be unto death; for behold, blood cometh from every pore, so great shall be his anguish for the wickedness and the abominations of his people.
And he shall be called Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Father of heaven and earth, the Creator of all things from the beginning; and his mother shall be called Mary.
And lo, he cometh unto his own, that salvation might come unto the children of men even through faith on his name; and even after all this they shall consider him a man, and say that he hath a  devil, and shall scourge him, and shall crucify him.
10 And he shall rise the third day from the dead; and behold, he standeth to judge the world; and behold, all these things are done that a righteous judgment might come upon the children of men.
11 For behold, and also his blood atoneth for the sins of those who have fallen by the transgression of Adam, who have died not knowing the will of God concerning them, or who have ignorantly sinned.
12 But wo, wo unto him who knoweth that he rebelleth against God! For salvation cometh to none such except it be through repentance and faith on the Lord Jesus Christ.
13 And the Lord God hath sent his holy prophets among all the children of men, to declare these things to every kindred, nation, and tongue, that thereby whosoever should believe that Christ should come, the same might receive remission of their sins, and rejoice with exceedingly great joy, even as though he had already come among them.
17 And moreover, I say unto you, that there shall be no other name given nor any other way nor means whereby salvation can come unto the children of men, only in and through the name of Christ, the Lord Omnipotent.
It's about the Savior, and all that He has done for us; the beauty of the atonement. and with a little invitation in v13 to go and tell someone about it so they can be joyful with you!

I think he'll be fine with a little felt tree.

What a MAN!!! WILL, THE SPANISH THRILL. You're awesome. There's kind of a saying out here.... Every time a missionary in England gets a door slammed in his face, there's a baptism in South America.
